The Colour Of Magic by Terry Pratchett TV Movie | David Jason, Christopher Lee, Tim Curry & Sean Astin To Star
After the successful adaptation of Terry Pratchett’s ‘The Hogfather’ novel to the small screen last Christmas, Sky One have turned their attention to the author’s first Discworld novel ‘The Colour Of Magic’.
Filming began on the version a few weeks ago, with some of the same cast who appeared in ‘The Hogfather’ appearing once again. Christopher Lee will return as the voice of Death, and what a good choice that is. David Jason meanwhile will appear as the wizard Rincewind, after putting in a great performance as Death’s faithful servant Albert last year.
Joining the legendary actors this time around will be Rocky Horror Picture Show star Tim Curry and Sean Astin who has recently been in 24 as well as the Lord Of The Rings movies.
I can’t wait to see this adaptation which is due to air next year as I loved the book. Although I can’t claim to have read all the books in the Discworld series (I possess neither the time or money to have done so) this is one of about 5 I have read and thoroughly enjoyed.

I think David Jason is great casting, and the rest look like fitting perfectly in to the fantasy world too. I wonder if as this is the first novel, Sky plan to carry on adapting the series? It would make sense as it’s one of the few really popular cult fantasy series which hasn’t yet been adapted to either the small or big screen.
