The Big Sharon Osbourne Vs X Factor Debacle
Sharon Osbourne supposedly quit her role as an X Factor judge on Saturday night’s live show after two of her three acts were voted in to the bottom duo and had to battle for survival.
At the time it made good TV, with Sharon storming off and seeming to decide she’d rather have nothing to do with the show than be responsible for getting rid of one of her own acts in the Under 25s Girls category.
But now it has become one big soap opera with multiple appearances on chat shows and a whole host of publicity for the show.
Kimberley Southwick and Alisha Bennett received the least amount of votes out of all twelve X Factor finalists on Saturday’s first live final show.
This meant they had to perform again, and then the four judges Sharon, Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh would have to decide individually which contestant they’d rather see come back and which would go home.
Sharon then had a hissy fit and declared to show presenter Dermot O’Leary “I’m out… gone!”
Even before the show, there were rumours of an argument between Sharon and her fellow judge Dannii Minogue. Sharon apparently took all her frustrations out on the younger, less talented Minogue sister and reduced her to tears. This may have indirectly affected Sharon’s attitude on the show, or maybe she was just drunk again.
Since the show went out live on television, Sharon has made a number of TV show appearances. She has ripped in to the programme and Simon Cowell, and complained about the fact that ITV haven’t been in touch and asked her back on to the show. Well why would they, you left!
Sharon notably told Paul O’Grady on his Channel 4 teatime programme :
“I’d had it up to here - it was like a bloody circus. It was a pantomime with the pyro, feathers, and girls dancing and wiggling. It’s not my show - I’m just a hired hand. It’s Simon Cowell’s show.â€?
If this isn’t a publicity stunt then I’m a big girl’s blouse, and I wear dresses around the house. This stinks of a big wind up to gain front page tabloid headlines, and get the show’s ratings up to previous year’s levels. Just like the whole Louis Walsh judge scam at the start of the series, this feels really fake and made up.
If Sharon isn’t back on the show on Saturday, looking all shy and timid, I’d be as surprised as I would be if I found out Dannii Minogue could sing, Louis Walsh isn’t gay and Simon Cowell doesn’t whiten his teeth.
