Spice Girls Reunion Concert Sells Out In 38 Seconds! | The Girls Add 3 More London Dates To World Tour
The Spice Girls long awaited reunion concert at London’s 02 Arena has sold out in just 38 seconds. Over a million people signed up for the opportunity to buy tickets for the first of the English gigs and within a minute of the online ticket sale going live, they’d all been snapped up by over eager fans.
The 15 December gig at the 02 Arena sold out so quickly that 3 more London dates were promptly added to the legendary girl group’s World tour. The new concert dates are the 16th and 18th December as well as a later one of January 2nd 2008. Tickets for all of the English concerts cost between £55 and £75.
Within an hour of the mind-blowingly quick sell out, a pair of tickets for the show had been listed on eBay for £900. Whether anyone is actually willing to pay that much remains to be seen.
This set of gigs will be the first time the whole group has performed together on stage since Geri Halliwell quit the group in 1998 to forge a solo career. Unfortunately, Geri and the rest of the girls have only achieved very limited success on their own, which must have prompted this coming back together at least in part. The rumoured pay day of at least £10 million each may also have had something to do with it.
The World tour begins in Vancouver, Canada on December 2nd and is sure to be a sell out many times over at every turn. Love them or loathe them the Spice Girls are back… lock up your sons and daughters!
