Snow Patrol Solo Albums
Rumours abound that Snow Patrol members Gary Lightbody and Nathan Connolly will be releasing solo albums as their next projects. Lead singer Gary’s album is likely to be a set of duets with female singers, following on from the Martha Wainwright collaboration on the band’s fourth studio album ‘Eyes Open’. The song titled ‘Set The Fire To The Third Bar’ is a beautiful and haunting ballad that you can watch below…
Snow Patrol fans need not fear that these solo ventures mean an end for the band though as both Gary and guitarist Nathan have stated these are side projects in addition to the band carrying on. ‘Eyes Open’ was released in May to both critical and fan praise and has sold 1.2 million copies to date. The band is currently on tour, first in North America before embarking on a huge set of European dates from the 14th December. A full list of the dates and ticket availability can be found on the official site here.
I love the band, who hail from Scotland and Northern Ireland, and do hope that they carry on despite the solo projects in the offing. If any of the songs have the quality of ‘Set The Fire To The Third Bar’ then I’ll be a definite buyer.

I love Snow Patrol, and I got their new album yesterday. Have you noticed that “Spitting Games” seems to be the default song playing in the background of bars on Torchwood?

The new album is great, really carrying on where the last left off.
I hadn’t noticed ‘Spitting Games’ in Torchwood no, but will keep an eye out from now on
