I was standing in the lounge and frowning at the television when I asked my husband if he remembered that show. That British one… No, not Little Britain… The one with… What for? I’m doing a guest post on Dave’s blog.
That’s when my husband looked at me strangely and asked me why didn’t I do a post about Red Dwarf? Pure genius and so utterly obvious I had to smack my forehead.
Why was it genius and utterly obvious?
Because I hear Red Dwarf.
Red Dwarf is one piece of British genius that makes my heart beat a little faster. (Actually, that would be the dreadlocked Dave Lister, but we won’t tell my husband that.)
Red Dwarf starts out like all great comedies start: After three million years in suspended animation, a chicken soup machine repairman awakes to find he is the last human being in the universe. “They’re all dead, Dave is what Dave hears when he comes to the realization he truly is the only human left in the universe.
However, is he alone as he thinks? It’s not long before you meet Rimmer the hologram, the embodiment of all those snooty boys you wanted to pants in school. As the series moves on you also meet a host of memorable characters (including the fashionable Cat and not your typical android Kryten) that make this the wonderful show it is.
Now, this post wouldn’t be complete without one of my absolute favorite Red Dwarf moments of goodness: Obey Mr. Flibble!…
Cheers to the show that made “Smegâ€? the new “fsckâ€?…
Now go out and watch Red Dwarf! Mr. Flibble doesn’t like it when you don’t watch Red Dwarf…

“…Everybody’s Dead Dave.”
Hey, did you know that you can get your own Mr. Flibble puppet?

Don’t worry, it doesn’t have hex vision, but it may be prone to singing torch songs if my friend’s puppet is anything to go by…
