Paul McCartney & Heather Mills Ready To Settle?

by

Paul McCartney & Heather Mills Ready To Settle? Not down together again, no that just be a bit too weird at this late stage in the game. No, it finally looks like Paul ‘Macca’ McCartney and Heather Mills (formerly McCartney) may be ready to talk about an out of court divorce settlement, and therefore do away with the need for a lengthy, drawn out, expensive and media frenzied High Court battle.

The former Beatles singer is rumoured to have made several phone calls to his former, estranged wife, and had conversations ahead of their five day hearing in February.

Macca is thought to be more keen on an out of court settlement now that Mills is thought to be representing herself. She split with her lawyers from legal firm Mishcon de Reya last year.

The Daily Mail reports a source as saying:

“She is going to say that before they met people liked her and admired her, she was successful, had her own career and income. Heather is claiming that when they got together, he stopped her from having a career.”

“Paul and Heather have spoken three or four times in recent days over the phone. It seems that the mood has definitely changed and they are both now ready to resolve things sensibly.”

So things may finally be looking up, although I wouldn’t count my chickens quite yet. I would assume Paul is coming round to the idea of giving his ex wife more money than he wants to, so as to avoid a high court battle in which she could reveal potentially embarrassing details of their marriage.

Mills has proven her resistance to his calls for her to remain silent on marital matters by going on various chat shows and expressing herself. This included a brilliantly manic performance on GMTV in which she made some quite perilously libellous claims, as well as ripping in to the press.

Even though the whole story gives me, as a blogger, plenty of ammunition for articles, I wish the saga would come to an end sooner rather than later. It’s dragging on preposterously, and I’m honestly getting bored of both of them, and their whinges now.
