04/19/2007 On The British Jukebox This Week…
After posting my review of the Arctic Monkeys new single ‘Brianstorm’ on Tuesday, I was shocked by the amount of non-British people whose response was “Who are the Arctic Monkeys?” or “Great song, but I’ve never heard of them before“. So, in response I thought I’d better start educating those of you who may not be completely au fait with British music by sharing and recommending a few songs.
If you’re British or a fan of British music, well, just treat this more like a listen to some of your favourite tunes instead. And if you disagree with my choices, then let me know which songs you’d choose to share with our neighbours around the world! This may be a one off, or if it proves popular a regular feature, but let me know your thoughts by leaving a friendly or stinking comment… both are read and appreciated lol.
So, these are my first five choices, some new, some old, some borrowed and some blue, except neither of the last two. Enjoy…
