OK Go ‘Here It Goes Again’ Spoof
We’ve all seen that OK Go video, you know the one, where they are all on treadmills and dancing in perfect formation to their own song?! Well, the vast majority of you will have, at least those that view You Tube on a weekly basis or have at least a passing interest in Indie/Alternative music. For those of you who don’t fit the above generic group or who have been living under a rock for the past year, here it is, the song’s called ‘Here It Goes Again’ and it’s sheer brilliance…
You may wonder why I am showing you something you have already seen? Well, partly for the benefit of the uninitiated and partly to also show you my favourite spoof of said video. Watch it, it’s funny, I defy you to watch one then the other and not laugh at least a little bit…
But some of you may not be aware of the video which preceded ‘Here It Goes Again’ which was ‘A Million Ways’ and was another inspired video, this time done in the singer’s back yard on a shoestring budget. When it’s this good though, money makes no difference to the success or not of a video promo for a song.
In the days of You Tube and other social video sites, doing a cheesy choreographed dance is a lot better way to get publicity and word of mouth than an 80’s style extravaganza of celebs and special effects. I for one like the change, what do you think?
