New Wembley Stadium Finished And Sold Out
Last week, the new national stadium in Wembley, North London was finally handed over to the English F.A. after months of severe delays. So when tickets for the first game at the new ground went on sale, the whole allocation sold out within six hours, despite it only being an England Under-21 game.

On March 24th, England’s young soccer team will play against Italy and all 60,000 of the £10 tickets were snapped up as soon as they went on sale. The rush for tickets sent booking lines into meltdown. Online sites and telephone order lines crashed under the sheer volume of applications. When lines opened at 3pm there were 6,000 people in the queue.
An FA spokesman said: “We are delighted that we are sold out. We appreciate that there was a huge volume of traffic applying for tickets when they were available. Obviously it was frustrating for everyone who wanted to keep trying.
The new stadium replaces the old Wembley, famous for it’s twin towers and host for such a huge amount of great sporting spectacles over the years. Cardiff’s Millenium stadium has been the replacement venue of choise over the last few season while the new Wembley was being built. It’s now undergoing safety tests and precautions to make sure everything is fine for the sheer volume of people (up to 90,000) that can watch events there.
