New Pop Buzz UK Banner And Stuff!

by Dave Parrack

Look, up there, yes, above you, see what that is? It’s a spunky new banner for Pop Buzz UK, and it’s a work of genius!

The 451 Press network has finally relented and let us design and post our own banners for our blogs. I’m sure you’ll agree it makes a welcome addition to the blog, and makes your friendly pop culture blogger stand out from the crowd a wee bit. Ok, so I’m not exactly Perez Hilton or TMZ quite yet, but I’m getting there slowly.

I didn’t have the talent of technical know-how to come up with such a graphical tour de force so I got the professionals in… otherwise known as my friend Han! She gets full credit for designing and making the new Pop Buzz UK banner, and also my thanks. She’s been a blogger for years and you can check her out at eruANNA.net. She’s also a great photographer and you can find her photography at apricot13.org. Don’t you just hate these multi-talented people?!

Ad now we come to a tagline for Pop Buzz UK. There was I, happy with my banner, until friends such as Paul at Toy Bender and Winnie at Watching The View started adding taglines to theirs, the big show offs. And now I want one, I’m jealous. So dear reader, I’m asking you for some suggestions. Make them funny, serious, disgusting or cheesy, I don’t mind, and the more the merrier. I have a few up my own sleeve, and when I’ve compiled them all, I’ll list them on here, and we can all have a vote for the best. That one WILL become the new tagline for Pop Buzz UK, so get thinking! Either leave me a comment with it in, or email me using the ‘Contact Me’ button over there.>>>

I keep thinking your banner isn’t nearly Eurovision enough. It needs a bit more Wogansomething :).

You know that hordes of Australians have Eurovision drinking parties every year? Not that it helps with PopBuzz.

  2. DaveP Says:

Being not Eurovision enough is a good thing… it means it’s working ;)

Obviously Australians have no taste then… unless you have parties just to rip the piss out of us stupid Europeans and our pathetic attempts at a song contest?

  3. Emma Says:

    The banner looks great!!!!

Now I need to think of tagline suggestions…

  4. Neel Says:

    Awesome banner!

  5. Carrie Says:

I like your “One read and you’ll be buzzing” line from the About blurb.

And the banner looks terrific! Very nice. :)

  6. Karen M. Lynch Says:

Your banner is awesome … Han? Wanna be my friend, too?

  7. catslyn Says:

Where being British actually means something!
    The British invasion is here!
Beautifully British and proud of it!

    heh…

Well, I probably vote for One read and you’ll be buzzing too.

Oh, and Dave? Cloudy won the riddle contest over at scalife. Have her pick a song. ;-)

  8. DaveP Says:

    Thank you Emma and Neel!

Carrie, so I had a great tagline sitting there right under my nose all along? Lol

Karen, offer her some cookies and you never know ;)

Catslyn, thanks for the suggestions, I like ‘The British invasion is here’ and will put that in the poll :)

I’ve told Cloudy, and she’ll be right over to pick a song when she gets out of the bath!

  9. Margie Says:

Love the colors it looks great!

  10. Margie Says:

Okay that sounded sillier than I meant it … what I meant to say was I love the banner and the fact that you work the flag in and use those colors. Great job!

  11. Karen M. Lynch Says:

Cookies … she’s got it. Han, if you’re reading, swing by my site and tell me your favorite kind. I can’t illustrate but I can bake!

  12. Kay Day Says:

I love your banner! Now I’ll come here just to look at Orlando.

Hannah did a fantastic job. And yep, those multi-talents really make me wish I had extra skills.

    best, Kay

  13. DaveP Says:

Margie, Thank you, I love the way Han worked the flag in :)

Karen, baking is just as good a skill as coding or design… I like the results just as much ;)

Kay, Thank you, if you like Orlando, you’d love my flat. I bought my gf an Orlando calendar for Christmas… she kept it on Feb for ages as he “looked hot” apparently ;)
