Led Zeppelin Reunion Concert Ticket Lottery Ends | Were You One Of The Lucky Ones To Get Tickets?

by

Led Zeppelin are reuniting for a one off gig at the 02 Arena (formerly Millennium Dome) in London on November 26th. The concert will raise money for the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund, a fund created in honour of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun who died last year.

Led Zeppelin Live

To deal with the massive demand for tickets for this one off chance to see a legendary British rock band, the organisers held a lottery where you applied for tickets, and the lucky ones would be chosen by a computer.

Over a million people put their name down on the website, and now the lucky few have been chosen. Remember that the venue only holds 20,000 people so it was a 1 in 50 chance to get hold of a ticket.

The lottery has now ended and the lucky people whose applications were successful have been notified. I wasn’t one of them as I baulked at the £125 minimum asking price for the tickets and so gave up possibly my only ever chance to see Led Zeppelin perform live.

To further combat ticket touts and unscrupulous people who buy tickets just to sell on eBay, the tickets will be issued in person at the 02 Arena on the 25/26 November. There you will be issued with a wristband that you must keep on until the show ends. Which is frankly a brilliant way of ensuring the real fans will be the ones who get to see their long lost heroes in action.

So did you get a ticket? Or did you miss out? Do you think the security measures are justified or slightly over zealous and unwarranted? Let me know what you think.

  1. Richard Says:

I agree with you, it’s a brilliant way to distribute and manage the tickets. It will only add to the excitement in Greenwich when you know it’s full of true fans, not people who just want to say they were there. I laugh at the people who sold thier password only to find out that there not transferable. it seemed pretty clear to me that was not going to be tollerated. I’m still beside myself that I’m going, all the way from Lakeside California.Good Night Now!!!
