Heather Mills McCartney Loses Her Marbles | Paul McCartney’s Ex Claims Media Drove Her To Suicide
Pop Buzz UK is now over a year old, and in that first month last October I wrote an interesting article about Paul McCartney and his wife Heather Mills divorce proceedings turning nasty. In a Nostradamus style premonition I titled it ‘Paul Vs Heather Round 1′… and how right I was because it’s still going on.
After last month’s supposedly friendly secret meeting to discuss and hopefully figure out a compromise deal, the gloves are back off and Heather is playing hard ball again. Last month’s meeting ended with both parties walking away claiming the other was unfair and asking for too much, and now Heather has given two TV interviews where she has been quite vicious on a number of the claims.

First of all she told America’s Today show that she had offered Sir Paul (more commonly known as Macca) a “very gentle and quick divorce” but was turned down.
“All I can say is when we first split, I said to Paul: ’I’m going to be crucified. You know why we split. You know the truth. They don’t need to know the details, but you need to stand up and say: “I’m responsible for the breakdown of this marriage.”
’If you say that, I’ll walk away with nothing, and we’ll do a very gentle and quick divorce.’ And he promised he’d do that. I have evidence of that. And he did nothing.
She then went on to claim that she has so far spent £1.5 million on legal fees. Further justifying her claims on such a huge portion of Macca’s fortune (which she must admit had nothing to do with her influence) she says she put her life on hold for the seven and a half years that the marriage lasted.
She then claimed to have received death threats and without naming names, almost fingered Paul McCartney himself saying:
“Well, I can’t say who I think it is because it will affect our family, but I know a lot of information and, you know, certain people don’t want certain things coming out because of their image.
Yeah whatever love.
And then it got worse (or better if like me you are a fan of watching train wrecks destroy themselves and their reputation live on television). She gave a manic interview on GMTV in the UK in which she blamed the media for all her woes, and compared herslef to Princess Diana and Kate McCann.
“For six years, when I lost my leg, I was the model that overcame adversity, inspired other amputees to get on with their lives. Front page of all the newspapers. The Sun, “Model of Courage”. They serialised my book. I told my whole life story in my book. It all went to charity. The Sun had it there. I talked about my glamour modelling when I was a teenager. I wanted to be the Marie Whittaker, the Linda Lusardi, the Samantha Fox, that was the thing to be in the 80s, I was a teenager. Then they eliminate now my whole 20 years of my life of campaigning and put in things like, “Hard Core Porn Queen”. All this disgusting stuff from my topless days. And then the poor guy who did this book called Joy For Sex, basically gets this much of an apology, because they call his book a “Hard Core Porn” thing. It’s so ridiculous. Paul knew about my glamour modelling. It was in the papers every week for the three years that we were engaged and they try and say “they broke up because she’s a glamour model”. It is such lies.”
“I’m trying to protect Paul and our daughter. I am trying and I am being pushed to the edge. Eighteen months of abuse. Worse than murderers and pedophiles. 4400 abusive articles. Look what they’re doing to the McCanns. The woman and the poor father have lost their daughter. What are we doing as a nation? What are we doing persecuting a woman that is devastated behind closed doors and trying to hold it together as I have for eighteen months. What did the paparazzi do to Diana? They chased her and they killed her. Never mind all these other stories. That is what we’re doing as a nation, buying these newspapers. Every time you buy one of those you contribute to it. So force a change for responsible journalism. You know, Rupert Murdoch when he bought that newspaper is quoted as saying “I can’t believe how easy it was to get in the British media. And I promise you I will always give you honest and straight-forward journalism.” Nothing like it.”
It was an absolute mess of an interview with Heather doing nothing to help her image as the put upon wife of a bullying rich rock star. I’m not a big fan of Paul McCartney’s either as his behaviour in all this has been crap as well, but God, this was terrible.
Her voice was raised, at some points I’m sure only dogs could hear her, and was just a performance which while making some people feel sorry for her and what she’s been through, will make more people wish she would just shut up and leave the country.
