Amy Winehouse’ Father Speaks Out Against Blake Fielder-Civil, Drug Problems & Weight Problems

Monday, October 29th, 2007

Mitch Winehouse Speaks OutThe father of British R’n'B singer and renowned druggie Amy Winehouse has been talking about his fears for his daughter’s health and his insistence that Amy had never touched hard drugs until she met her husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

Mitch Winehouse told the ITV1 daytime show This Morning his fears over her drug problems, health problems and the fact that she has lost so much weight over the last six months.

“It’s apparent in her music that she’s smoked dope for quite a while, probably from the age of 16 or 17, perhaps even earlier.”

“She was a complete opponent of hard drugs - in fact, she got up and said she couldn’t understand why people in the music industry took hard drugs and that changed about six months ago when she got married to Blake.”

“And I’m not saying it’s Blake’s fault, what I’m saying is Amy’s responsible for her own actions. However, it’s a fact that the hard drugs coincided with their marriage.

I have to agree, her mental well-being, and struggles with hard drugs did seem to get a lot worse once she married Blake Fielder-Civil. He claims her battle with weight is down to bulimia, but again, I would suggest the drugs have got something major to do with that too.

If you look at pictures of her 2 years ago and now, it’s quite shocking how much weight she has lost. She has gone from being an attractive and vuluptuous woman to a skinny, almost skeletal train wreck.

The Problem With The X Factor - The Judges

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

A few days ago I detailed the whole sorry Sharon Osbourne saga which blighted the show last week. For those of you too lazy to go back and read the whole post, basically Sharon threw her toys out of her pram, and threatened to leave the show. Except she didn’t, because it was probably all a big publicity stunt.

And that wasn’t the first instance of the judges egos taking precedence over the contestants singing performances this series. Right at the beginning of the season, Louis Walsh was supposedly called back from the grave (he wasn’t dead except maybe in Simon Cowell’s eyes) to replace Brian Friedman as a judge. Oh come on, it was planned all along, why was he “fired” in the first place anyway?

And last night’s show, the second of the live final episodes which will run up to near Christmas right on cue for the winner to grab the Christmas number 1 in the UK, we saw more evidence of the problem with this show.

The Problem With The X Factor - The Judges

Now don’t get me wrong, I love The X Factor, I sit there religiously tuning in every week along with millions of other sad individuals too boring to be out partying on a Saturday night. But the judges and their participation in the show is ruining the whole thing for me.

The public vote who is their favourite performer of the night, with the two who receive the least votes ending up in the bottom to and having to sing for survival. So far so good. the problem comes when you realise that it’s the judges who then have the final say on who goes and who stays to fight another day. This is obviously wrong.

Robbie Williams Continues The Controversial Onslaught | Now Calls Courtney Love Fugly

Friday, October 26th, 2007

Robbie Williams seems determined to upset all and sundry. Following hot on the heels of last week’s bum sex outburst, he has now called Courtney Love fugly.

Robbie Williams Calls Courtney Love Ugly

Apparently Courtney expressed a desire to sleep with the British pop star and had high hopes of getting him in to bed. Unfortunately Robbie wasn’t interested because “of the ugly thing”.

The Big Sharon Osbourne Vs X Factor Debacle

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

The Big Sharon Osbourne Vs X Factor DebacleSharon Osbourne supposedly quit her role as an X Factor judge on Saturday night’s live show after two of her three acts were voted in to the bottom duo and had to battle for survival.

At the time it made good TV, with Sharon storming off and seeming to decide she’d rather have nothing to do with the show than be responsible for getting rid of one of her own acts in the Under 25s Girls category.

But now it has become one big soap opera with multiple appearances on chat shows and a whole host of publicity for the show.

Kimberley Southwick and Alisha Bennett received the least amount of votes out of all twelve X Factor finalists on Saturday’s first live final show.

This meant they had to perform again, and then the four judges Sharon, Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh would have to decide individually which contestant they’d rather see come back and which would go home.

Sharon then had a hissy fit and declared to show presenter Dermot O’Leary “I’m out… gone!”

Robbie Williams Shocks USA With Offensive Anal Sex And Drugs Remarks

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Robbie Williams Shocks USA With Offensive RemarksRobbie Williams is said to have upset the American public with some controversial off the cuff remarks about sex and drugs… and presumably rock and roll.

The British singer now lives in Los Angeles despite a lack of success breaking the American music scene.

He was talking outside of an LA hotel and was asked what he’d recently been up to. He told reporters he had been “wanking and shooting heroin“.

The 33 year old ex Take That band member’s comments were aired on television, even though it was before the 10pm child free watershed. There were even subtitles added to help viewers understand his English accent.

When celebrity gossip site TMZ later asked him about the comments he replied “What else have I been doing? Just being nasty and having bum sex“.

Paul McCartney & Heather Mills £60 Million Divorce Settlement | Secret Meeting In High Court Today

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

Sir Paul McCartney & Heather MillsPaul McCartney and Heather Mills have been in court today trying to thrash out a final settlement and put the whole sorry mess behind them.

The estranged couple, who had what can only be described as a tumultuous marriage are having a meeting with their respective lawyers in front of a high court judge in the hope of finally coming to terms on a deal which should see them both walk away relatively happy.

Heather would walk away with £60 million from Sir Paul’s huge fortune, which would be made up of a lump sum and an annual payment for their daughter Beatrice. Paul would finally get the woman who he reportedly came to hate out of his life.

Unfortunately it’s too late for either of them to walk away with their dignity intact as the rumours and stories of the bitter fighting which ensued during their marriage has made them both look rather pathetic at times.

Last Week In The UK, No General Election Edition…

Monday, October 8th, 2007

This week has been terrible for me personally as I’ve had a stinking cold, or as I like to call it ‘Man Flu’. Yes I know it’s the same thing but it makes me sound more ill than I am, and elicits more sympathy from my girlfriend.

The rest of the country has been dominated by talk of a possible general election, which now isn’t going to happen. And I really don’t care either way, as whoever gets in always turns out to be as bad as the last shower of shit who were in before. Power corrupts.

Friday, October 5th, 2007

Led Zeppelin are reuniting for a one off gig at the 02 Arena (formerly Millennium Dome) in London on November 26th. The concert will raise money for the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund, a fund created in honour of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun who died last year.

Led Zeppelin Live

To deal with the massive demand for tickets for this one off chance to see a legendary British rock band, the organisers held a lottery where you applied for tickets, and the lucky ones would be chosen by a computer.

Over a million people put their name down on the website, and now the lucky few have been chosen. Remember that the venue only holds 20,000 people so it was a 1 in 50 chance to get hold of a ticket.
