Britney Spears Files For Divorce

It looks as though the inevitable has happened and Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are getting divorced. CNN and Reuters are today reporting that the 2 years 1 month marriage between the singer and one of her former back up dancers is over for good with Spears filing the legal papers. She’s reportedly citing “irreconcilable differences? and asking for legal and physical custody of their two children. Both news organisations are crediting celebrity site TMZ.com of breaking the story.
Twice married Britney, 24, has listed the separation date as Monday. This seperation and impending legal split will not be a surprise for anyone who has read at least one celebrity magazine or newspaper in the last two years. Throughout the marriage there have been reports and rumours of problems between the two and it now looks like that has built up to a point neither of them want to carry on.
As in all of these celebrity divorce cases, I feel the most sympathy for the children. We have 1 year old Sean Preston and the barely 2 month old Jayden James. What role and how much participation in their lives, their father will have is now unfortunately in the hands of lawyers. The one piece of good news Britney can console herself with is that the vast fortune she has amassed in her short life is safe from any potentially gold digging hands. She, with help and advice (read insistence) from her Mom drew up a supposedly water tight pre nup in case the worst happened, which it has.
As for the reason for the split, speculation that Britney heard K-Fed’s debut rap album and immediately got on the phone to her lawyers probably isn’t true…

You are right. That is no surprise considering the two had problems for a long time.
Celebrities have it tough.

In my opinion you only had to look at his handling of previous relationship to see how this was going to turn out. I feel bad for the family, but this is not exactly a shocker.
