Borat The Movie

Borat: The Movie or Cultural Learnings of America for make benefit glorious nation of Kazakhstan to give it it’s full, hilarious but convoluted title is finally out on November 3rd. It’s one of those films I knew nothing about, then heard rumblings and then the anticipation and buzz around it grew and grew. Now I can’t wait to see it. So much so that I felt the need to watch one of the trailers of the film which have turned up on You Tube.
I am so going to the cinema to see the whole film asap, it looks hilarious. I always used to enjoy Borat’s pieces on The Ali G Show but never thought they’d be able to spin it out to movie length. It seems on first sight they’ve managed it quite spectacularly with a film that should be universally funny…except if you’re from Kazakhstan I suppose.
For those people who think I’ve gone mad looking forward to a docu-film by a Journalist from Kazakhstan, don’t fret; it’s a very clever spoof. It comes from the same creator as Ali G and the humour and set up are quite similar in that both characters make others feel uncomfortable by their actions or words.
At the London premiere last Wednesday, Borat himself arrived in Leicester Square on a horse and cart, Union Jack umbrella in hand, sheltering him from the typical British downpour. In tow were Borat’s brother, his brother’s wife and their new child who he hopes will be “adopted by your singing transvestite Madonna!
Check back soon for a full review of this very funny looking film once I’ve seen if the reality lives up to the hype and expectation.
