First off, in an exciting twist to the normal Big Brother selection process, hopefuls for next year will be able to apply online. According to reports, the Big Brother website will be transformed into a social networking site similar to MySpace and Facebook. Users and potential BB contestants will then be able to upload their audition tapes to the site for producers and other site users to view and decide whether they are worthy of being on the show. At least one contestant will be chosen by this method, though the others will still be picked by the normal methods of interviews and live auditions. The 8th series of the ever popular reality show is due to be on air next summer, and the show’s makers are bound to invent a newer, more evil twist once again to keep viewers interests.

For this year’s Celebrity Big Brother meanwhile, the rumours of certain celebs said to have agreed to appear are building. This year’s political representative may be Tory MP Boris Johnson, a man loved for his bumbling & eccentric personality. Boris would have to claim permission from Conservative leader and potential Prime Minister David Cameron before being allowed to appear. He would surely be keen to try and avoid a repeat of last year’s performance by MP and anti-war protestor George Galloway (Pictured below with Pete Burns) who infamously dressed in a leotard and mimicked a cat last winter on the show.

Another contestant allegedly being lined up for an appearance in British Celebrity Big Brother is Britney’s soon to be Ex Kevin Federline. Reports suggest he’s been offered £150,000 to be a contestant in the latest series. The Sun newspaper claims a show insider as saying “Kevin is hugely entertaining because he takes himself really seriously - even though no one else does. He’ll be great for the show because it’s all about larger-than-life characters.” The dancer come rapper come prat who calls himself K-Fed is said to be considering the deal. I suppose it all depends on how much Britney agrees to give him in the divorce case and whether that sex tape actually does exist or not. If so, £150,000 will be a mere drop in the ocean compared to how much lolly K-Fed could be expected to be swimming in if it gets released in any form.
