Amy Winehouse Booed At First Gig On Tour | Has Beehive Searched For Drugs In Prison Visit
Amy Winehouse had a bit of a difficult day yesterday. First of all she went to visit her husband Blake Fielder-Civil in Pentonville prison, where he is currently remanded in custody awaiting trial on charges of perverting the course of justice.
I wrote the full story up on Brit Music Scene, but in a nutshell, he is accused of allegedly trying to fix a trial in which he was accused of assaulting a pub landlord.

While visiting hubby, also a drug addict like Amy herself, The Sun claim she had her famous beehive haircut searched for drugs. Now this could be bullshit, but it made me giggle none the less, so I thought I’d run with it. I’ve never thought of Amy’s beehive being useful for storing things in, but thinking about it, it’s the perfect place!
I can just imagine her having her own pharmacy stored up there, and if she actually combed it, a whole barrage of drug paraphernalia would tumble out on to the ground.
But then, Winehouse’ day got worse, as she embarked on her new UK tour. She was playing the first gig on the tour in Birmingham, when halfway through the set she dedicated ‘Wake Up Alone’ to Blake, who she had obviously seen incarcerated earlier in the day.
A number of fans started to boo at this point, and as she rambled out a dedication to hubby, a number even got up and walked out. So how did Winehouse react to these die hard fans who have spent good money on tickets for a gig she may even not turned up for? She shouted at them:
“To them people booing, wait ’til my husband gets out. And I mean that.”
Nice, that’s really the way to take care of your fans love.
She did stay and almost finish her set, although people said she stumbled through the songs, rather than actually singing them. But when it got to the final song, a cover of the Zutons classic ‘Valerie’, she just dropped her mic halfway through the song and walked off stage.
The fans weren’t happy… obviously. Zoe Giorgio told the BBC:
“When she did sing she sounded phenomenal but she was not ready to be up on that stage. She was so weak, so vulnerable.”
Gary Atwell, said:
“I went out for a sneaky cigarette halfway through and at least 40 people left, just in that five minutes.”
Amy Amy Amy, what are you doing? I know it must be terrible to see your old man banged up in prison, but these are your fans, the people who have stuck by you through all the troubles. The least you could do is respect them, do a great set, and leave them in no doubt as to why they are your fans.
