A “Big Nothing” Preview With Something In
This is the new film “Big Nothing, released in the UK on the 1st December. The instant attraction for me is two of my favourite comedy actors Simon Pegg and David Schwimmer being the main protagonists of the movie. Okay, David hasn’t had the most glittering career since his glory days of Friends but those memories are enough for me to want to see him in stuff. Simon Pegg is a genius of comedic proportions if you can have such a thing. He wrote and starred in Shaun Of The Dead, one of my favourite films of recent years. He also wrote cult sitcom Spaced and contributed to some of the best British comedies including Brass Eye, Black Books, and the League Of Gentlemen. His move into more mainstream cinema and TV has seen him in Dr Who and Mission Impossible 3, amongst others. Just looking at his Imdb page, I see he has already recorded 4 more films so expect to see a lot of him over the next 2 years.

This movie looks great, and the trailer does a good job of making me want to go and see the whole film. It’s not getting much attention or hype and that may be a good thing, leaving the audience pleased at the quality rather than disappointed, as is so often the case with big releases. French Director Jean-Baptiste Andrea isn’t a big name either, with just 2003’s Dead End to his name before “Big Nothing. A night watching this comedy/horror/thriller/slasher film looks like it could be enjoyable. Whether it’s got the pull to entice people from Borat and Bond is another matter.

Lmao, excellent comment Dana, Thanks. He is bloody excellent, I do love pretty much everything he’s been in. check out the new film “Hot Fuzz” which is coming next year. It’s the semi sequel to Shaun Of the Dead, same cast and writers, but this time about police rather than zombies!
