04/27/2007 On The British Jukebox This Week…
Carrying on the attempt at educating anyone who thinks British music ended with The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, here is another selection of great music from the UK. It’s all handpicked by me, and whether you think it’s great, OK, or downright unlistenable, just let me know by using ye olde comment box down there!
Art Brut - Emily Kane
Kaiser Chiefs - Everyday I Love You Less And Less
The Libertines - Up The Bracket
The Rakes - 22 Grand Job
The Streets - Let’s Push Things Forward
Let me know what you think of the above songs and bands. Have they travelled across the world and made it big in other countries? Have you ever even heard of them? What do you think of British music in general, good or a load of tripe? If any of the songs I’ve featured grabbed you, let me know and I’ll either feature more from that band or write a full feature on them.

I like this post and it’s easy clickability! And I wasn’t familiar with any of these bands. I think a link to this post will be in order over at my own blog.
My favorite here is definitely The Streets.
The UK produces tons of good music!

Thanks Emma, your blog is great too
I’m proud of some of the music we produce here in the UK, not bad for a small island.
The Streets started quite a wave of popular British hip hop, and some of it is great.

The Kaiser Chiefs song is great Dave, but I prefer “Ruby”.

Ah, Ruby is class Carrie, although I preferred their 1st album anyway… I predict a riot!
